After the win over Carrarese, coach Luca D'Angelo shared his thoughts on the third home win of the season:
"I’m very pleased with the four goals we scored, and I believe we could have added even more. As for the goals we conceded, in Cerri’s goal, we were outnumbered and when the referee allowed Hristov back on, he wasn’t able to reach the box in time. For their second goal, we were a bit careless.
We continue to take it one game at a time—there’s no sense in getting ahead of ourselves now. We need to stay focused and keep our feet firmly on the ground.
Once again, we fell behind and that’s something we need to improve. But today, you could tell we were going to come back, as we created so many chances and, overall, played a fantastic game. We met the expectations of our fans, showing great unity and determination to bring home the full three points.
Possession stats, to be honest, aren’t something I find particularly interesting. Or rather, they are only relevant when it comes to possession in the opponent's half. Today, we did a great job of putting Carrarese under pressure and not allowing them to dictate the play in our half. Carrarese has had solid performances so far this season, making things difficult for their opponents, so I’m very satisfied with the performance of my team.
We need everyone on this squad, and the guys have formed a great, competitive group, as it should be. Right now, both the starters and those coming off the bench are eager to contribute, to help their teammates, and to make an impact. That’s essential.
As for the Picco, our team thrives on rhythm and pressing and when we have the support of a crowd like this, we can challenge any opponent. It’s been like this for months now, and the atmosphere is just incredible.
Pio Esposito is doing well; he’s a hardworking boy and today he reaped the rewards of his effort by scoring two important goals. Salvatore Esposito is a key player and with the right support around him he can really shine and make a difference. He must continue on this path and aim to keep improving and growing.
Vignali and Cassata, both natives of Spezia, definitely gave us something extra today. They played an outstanding match in every respect, and their energy certainly inspired the rest of the team, who all showed great dedication and sacrifice, demonstrating a strong will to win".
