Biography
A native of Piana Battolla and a product of the Aquilotti youth academy, this talented player combines determination with skill—qualities that opened the doors to the Under-18 and Under-19 national teams for him at a very young age and allowed him to immediately make a major impact upon his professional debut with Siena. During the 2016–2017 season, still in Lega Pro but playing for Carrarese, Bastoni once again made his mark, scoring three goals in thirty matches and playing a decisive role in helping the Tuscan team avoid relegation. In the following season, the talented midfielder carved out a leading role for himself at the ambitious Trapani. In the first half of the 2018–2019 season, he had his first stints in the white jersey before moving on again, this time to Novara; during the historic “Aquilotti” run of the 2019–2020 season, he took the field nine times, partly due to a long-term injury. In his first Serie A season, he was one of the key players in the team’s survival, secured with one matchday remaining, appearing in 22 matches, scoring a goal against Milan, and providing 8 assists. The 2021–2022 season saw him take the field in the white jersey 31 times, contributing 3 goals and 4 assists. In the seasons leading up to his return to the white jersey, he had positive experiences with Empoli in Serie A and with Cesena in Serie B.
