The words of coach Marco Turati on the eve of Reggiana-Spezia: "The team comes out of the last match well, because we understood that if we bring onto the pitch the main characteristics we have in our DNA, we are able to hold our own against sides equipped to compete at the top of the league. We have already put that match behind us, because another tough challenge awaits us on Sunday, perhaps even more complicated, so we will have to be good at bringing the right attitude, leaving the Pescara match behind.
I cannot speak about Reggiana's ambitions at the start of the year, but without a doubt they have a squad of proven experience and quality; for our part, even though our name puts us among the favorites, the goal has always been, from the very beginning, to rebuild, to develop our young players and to be a nuisance for the top teams.
I am honored to be able to face such experienced and seasoned coaches as Attilio Tesser; I am young and can only be happy to have the opportunity to measure myself against coaches with such a résumé.
Oyono? He returned to training with us today and we found him in very good shape.
We are happy with the satisfaction we have given the fans so far, even though we look very little at the standings; it is true that we have already faced very highly rated teams, but meeting them early on, I know well, does not necessarily mean that we are stronger or weaker than them.
I have shaken up my team quite a lot in recent days, because we are still getting to know each other, so I still need to understand well how we react to victories; we have tried to keep the bar of attention high and, tactically, we have tried to take the best measures to limit a very strong team with many strong points like Tesser's.
The nicest compliments we are receiving in these weeks are those about the team spirit we are showing on the pitch; our goal this season is to keep people's enthusiasm high, repay their love and make them proud of us. Receiving compliments on the attitude the team shows on the pitch is therefore a great source of pride for me.
Once again we will have to deal with an away match closed to our fans, and this is a cause of great regret; winning at Pescara with only one fan, who nonetheless gave us great joy, saddened us a lot, because it could have been a great celebration. Being without supporters in Reggio Emilia, in a match that has always been very beautiful and heartfelt in the stands as well, is certainly a great pity.
Reggiana's forwards have the physical strength and quality to cause problems for anyone, so we will have to try to limit their supply and try to keep Reggiana as far as possible from our penalty area; we nonetheless want to always be recognizable, carry out our game plan and try to let our opponents' qualities emerge as little as possible.
Pescara was a hard-fought and very tight match, in which my lads spent extra energy, showing the attachment they have for the shirt they wear. We did not encounter any major problems, perhaps only Bastoni felt a very slight discomfort, but he still pushed hard until the end: in these last days we will assess his condition, but otherwise there are no issues.
I think the emotional aspect is always very important and we have worked a lot on it because, not yet knowing my group's personality well, I preferred to keep stimulating them right from the resumption of training to keep their attention always very high."
