Two days to go until the challenge against Igor Tudor's Hellas Verona and here are the words of coach Thiago Motta to the press:
"There is regret for last week's matches, in which we played two very good performances against two strong teams like Juventus and Milan but without bringing home a single point. We saw several positive things, such as team spirit and determination, the road is the right one and the next matches will tell us if our efforts will be rewarded.
Every team has its own balance, if we concede a goal it is not only the fault of the defenders or the goalkeeper, and the same goes for the attack, the goal is built by the team, not by the individual.
Injuries are and always will be there, it's nothing new for a club. I'm confident that the guys who will be available for Sunday will play a good game, they know their worth and are determined to bring home points.
Nguiamba is a guy who arrived to give his contribution to the team, he has to be available right away, train at his best, and integrate quickly, because at this moment everyone has to be ready, no one excluded.
Kovalenko? Unfortunately, he's still not well and we need to give him time to recover from his injury and be able to contribute.
Against Hellas Verona I expect a difficult match, they are a good team, very aggressive, it will be up to us to play a good game; we are aware that we can put them in difficulty and we will try to do our best. I definitely don't expect my guys to play a defensive game, we need to win and we have to do it through the offensive phase, putting into practice what we create.
We also have to pay attention to the psychological aspect, when we score a goal we have to react and after scoring we can't let ourselves go, but we have to keep playing and look for more goals without getting down and closing ourselves off.
I'm happy for Antiste's call to the French U21 national team, I'm proud of him as well as all the guys called up by their respective national teams."
