Spezia Calcio announces the start of the modernization and renovation of the "Alberto Picco" stadium, the design of which has been entrusted to the GAU Arena company, with the intention of creating a modern, sustainable, safe and suitable facility for the needs of the city.
The multi-year project, which has seen in the first phase the renovation of the Curva Piscina, will be completed in the summer of 2024 with the construction of the roofing of the Curva Ferrovia and is functional on the one hand for the adaptation of the Stadium to the standards and requirements of the current infrastructure criteria, and on the other hand for the general modernization of the facility.
The works started yesterday include the renovation and modernization of the Grandstand with execution mainly of the following interventions by the companies Clarin Italia Tribune SRL, Futura SRL and Ioli Impianti SRL:- construction of a new building located behind the Grandstand that will have inside it the media areas, a hospitality area on the first floor, as well as some support rooms;- renovation and expansion of the locker room floor to bring it in line with the required infrastructural criteria;- placement of new seats throughout the Grandstand.
The works planned for this phase will be completed towards the end of September 2023.
The entire project of modernization and renovation of the "Alberto Picco" stadium will be presented on Wednesday, June 28 at the conference room of Villa Marigola in Lerici, in the presence of the media and the Club's partners. Speakers at the presentation press conference will include Spezia Calcio President Philip Platek Jr, La Spezia Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini, Authorities representing the Region of Liguria, as well as Architect Gino Zavanella of GAU Arena, who will expound from a technical point of view the details of the interventions.
