A new weekly appointment with “Scuole al Picco” (Schools at Picco), the project dedicated to schools in the La Spezia area, focusing on an unmissable tour of the renovated “Alberto Picco” stadium. This morning's guests were the pupils of the “Falcone-Borsellino” Comprehensive School in Riccò del Golfo, specifically middle school classes 3A and 3B.
The project, which sees the Club di Via Melara open the doors of its stadium to young students, is based on the desire to educate the younger generation by promoting a positive culture of sport, highlighting values such as passion, loyalty, respect, fun, and teamwork.
Through a journey of discovery into the world of the Aquile, various topics related to the past and present of Spezia Calcio are touched upon, including testimonies from the historic La Spezia speaker Federico La Valle, touching on the history of football fandom on the shores of the Gulf of Poets, with its characters and anecdotes, characterized by the great pride of being alongside their city's team on a daily basis. But that's not all, because this special event also featured testimony from Gugliemo Bertani of ANED, the National Association of Former Deportees to Nazi Camps, who told the young people about the incredible exploits of the 1944 champions and their historic championship title.
An iconic moment of “Scuole al Picco” was the big themed quiz with numerous prizes branded by Spezia Calcio and Kariba, partners of the project, which filled the young protagonists of the morning at Picco with joy. The event then concluded in the stands, in the beating heart of the Spezia fanbase, with a beautiful souvenir photo in the Curva Ferrovia to the tune of the Aquilotti anthem “Non siete soli”.
