A new edition of Scuole al Picco, one of Spezia Calcio’s events, took place this morning as the club once again opened the doors of its stadium to welcome local primary and secondary school students. Sponsored by the Municipality of La Spezia, today’s event featured two first-grade classes from the Don Antonio Mori primary school.
This edition was particularly special, marking the first event since the recent inauguration of the Curva Ferrovia’s new roof. The young visitors had the chance to experience the heart of the Aquilotti’s home like never before, immersing themselves in its history, traditions, and a day full of excitement.
A range of new activities enriched this edition, particularly in the newly designed hospitality area. The program kicked off with a historical segment led by ANED (National Association of Former Deportees in Nazi Camps), providing context for the unforgettable achievements of the 1944 Champions and then-president Coriolano Perioli. The day continued with a talk by longtime club announcer Federico La Valle, who shared stories not only about the significance of the white jersey but also about the deep-rooted supporter culture along the Gulf of Poets, highlighting its iconic figures and cherished traditions.
A fan-favorite moment of Scuole al Picco was once again the big history quiz, hosted by Spezia’s official stadium announcer. The students put their knowledge of the club’s past and present to the test, competing for prizes in a fun and interactive challenge.
No visit to the stadium would be complete without an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. The young guests explored the locker rooms, walked through the players’ tunnel, and stepped onto the field, imagining themselves as their favorite players about to take the pitch at the Picco. The tour also included a stop in the media areas, from the press conference room to the journalists’ workspace and the press box, perched atop the Campioni del 1944 stand.
The eventful morning concluded in true Aquilotti fashion: the children took to the pitch to the sound of Non siete soli, followed by a snack break in the field boxes and a thrilling penalty shootout under the Curva Ferrovia. A perfect way to cap off an unforgettable day, leaving each child with a lasting memory of their time at the Picco.
