An incredible match capped off by a stunning free-kick. After the game against Pisa, Salvatore Esposito shared his emotions: “Knowing that I’m an important player for the coach and my teammates means a lot to me, it fills me with pride and responsibility. I wasn’t feeling great before the match, but I didn’t want to miss it, and I’m happy I was able to be out there.
It was a classic Serie B game, one both teams were really invested in. We wanted to do well, just as they did. Maybe it wasn’t the prettiest match, but it was certainly entertaining, five goals in a game isn’t something you see every day. It was a fairly balanced contest, and once again, we showed how tough we can be to face at home. That has to be our strength from now until the end of the season.
It was an intense, emotional match, but it doesn’t decide anything yet, tthere are still plenty of games left. We really wanted this win, and so did our fans. When I came off, the entire bench was practically on the pitch, we got caught up in the competitive fire, and it just goes to show how much this group cares about this jersey.
The bond with the fans is something truly special, I feel it deep inside, and it’s giving me that extra push. Seeing some supporters in tears in Bolzano because of my suspension really hit me. It gave me even more motivation and energy to keep pushing forward. This connection with the fans is something truly important, both for me and for my teammates".
