The 15th edition of the traditional "Transatlantic Award Gala Dinner", organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, was held on Thursday, December 2nd, in Milan, in the splendid setting of the East End Studios.
The prestigious evening, which was attended by 500 people from the Italian and American business community, opened with greetings from the Ambassador of Italy to the United States of America, Mariangela Zappia, and Thomas Smitham, Acting Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America in Italy, and was also attended by the Minister of Defense, Lorenzo Guerini, and the Minister of Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti.
During the evening, according to tradition, awards were given to US and Italian companies that have made significant investments on the transatlantic axis, including Mr. Robert Platek, who received the Transatlantic Award for the purchase of Spezia Calcio in February 2021, immediately showing great interest in the enhancement of the territory and the internalization of the Spezia Calcio brand with significant investments in young and international management, in the infrastructure of the Club including the work on the stadium, and the introduction of best practices for the analysis of performance data and for the scouting of new talent.
"It is an honor for me to have received this award. I immediately felt at ease in Italy, meeting exceptional people, wonderful places and immediately getting in tune with the local culture. At La Spezia, we have built a young team, both on and off the pitch, and our focus is to make the club grow day by day, even improving the facilities so that they can be a source of pride for the whole city", the words of Mr. Robert Platek during the award ceremony.
