TERNI – A winning debut for Claudio Terzi's Primavera squad, who after the positive signs shown in the Coppa Italia, also managed to secure the first three points of the league campaign today. In a challenging away match, the Aquilotti found themselves trailing early, with Valenti opening the scoring for Ternana in the 10th minute. However, Spezia’s response came quickly, as Fontanarosa equalized from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark. The second half was a tightly contested affair, but Spezia pushed hard for the win. It wasn’t until the 87th minute that Franchetti Rosada scored the game-winning goal, completing the comeback. Spezia had a chance to put the match away in the dying moments, but Piccioli’s penalty was saved by Novelli. A great start to the season for coach Terzi’s boys, who will host Napoli at the Ferdeghini in the next round.
Below are the post-match comments from coach Claudio Terzi: “It was important to start with a positive performance and three points, and today, thanks to the character of the team, we managed to secure an important victory in a match that, to be honest, could have ended in a draw. However, the desire and determination of my players were rewarded.
The team showed great focus and grit, overturning an early deficit against a well-organized side with excellent individual players, especially in attack.
Even those who came off the bench today made a decisive impact, and I believe that if we continue on this path, we can achieve great things. There's plenty of room for improvement, and it’s still early days, but with daily hard work, I’m confident we’ll progress week by week. Certainly, starting with a win is a big confidence boost and helps us work with even more enthusiasm".
