Match Report - A goalless draw against Pescara for the boys under coach Terzi, who secured their third clean sheet of the season, showcasing exceptional defensive solidity. The match was heavily influenced by strong winds sweeping through the Abruzzo region. After managing well under adverse weather conditions and conceding only a single early scare when Pescara hit the post, the visitors closed the first half on the attack. Spezia returned to the field with even greater conviction in the second half, coming close to breaking the deadlock several times through Fontanarosa, Ferrazza, and Tognoni, the latter also denied by the post. Benvenuto and Djankpata featured for Spezia, having missed the away match in Palermo, and made their season debut under coach Terzi.
At the end of the match, coach Claudio Terzi commented: "It was a game heavily influenced by the wind. In the first ten minutes, playing against the wind, we faced some risks, especially from set pieces. But we did well to regain control of the game, pinning the hosts in their half by the end of the first half.
Pescara has some important individual talents, particularly in attack, but we did a great job of limiting them. This has been a recurring theme in recent games, where we've shown excellent defensive solidity, conceding just one penalty goal across the last three matches.
In the second half, we created plenty of chances, especially in the first 30 minutes. Unfortunately, a mix of bad luck, lack of decisiveness, and some excellent saves by their goalkeeper meant we couldn’t capitalize on our opportunities. Toward the end, we risked a bit on their counterattacks, as we were pushing hard to score, but we recovered well and avoided giving them a clear chance to find the net.
Djankpata and Benvenuto? They had great attitudes. It’s never easy when transitioning from the First Team to the Primavera. Aside from not knowing all their teammates, they must adapt to different instructions and ideas. Both played an excellent game, held their own despite lacking match fitness, and we’re very pleased with their contributions.
Now we’ll regroup and begin preparing for the match against Pisa. It’s always an important game, a derby, and we want to approach it in the best possible way to get back to winning at the Ferdeghini, as we haven’t secured three points at home in several matches".
