The fans’ reaction? I understand their anger and their disappointment. Of course, I can’t say I appreciated certain behaviors, especially the spitting, and I’m actually glad Tom Roberts wasn’t here tonight, because he would have certainly gone under the Curva. That said, I also want to highlight that the fans’ support from the start of the match was outstanding, and despite the situation they did everything they could to help the team. That’s why I believe the protests are understandable.
Tom and I need to plan for the future. He’s not an amateur he’s a serious professional who has invested well over €60 million into this club. Together, we’ll have to analyze everything, because he will stay here and will want to rebuild, understanding what went wrong and how to improve.
When we first arrived, we said that within five years we wanted to reach the top flight, but right now those words feel empty. We need to regroup and assess everything, but that will require clarity and at this moment, I’m very disappointed and angry.”
