Today two new players of Spezia Calcio were presented to the press: the enfant prodige Janis Antiste and the Albanian forward arrived from Barcelona Rey Manaj.
The first to speak is Manaj, the new number 9: "I came to Spezia to take a risk, I'm a person who likes challenges and I'm very happy to be here. I hope to get on the field as soon as possible, I can't wait.
Surely the experience at Barcelona is the most important of my career, it gave me the opportunity to train with the best players in the world, and I noticed that the higher the level the more humble, hardworking, and professional the players are: we can only learn from them.
Being one of the many forwards in the team is an incentive, the rivalry between us is important because it pushes us to give more. Obviously, in the training sessions we always have to give 100%, then who goes on the field is the coach's choice, but we all have to do our best.
The guys in the team are very humble, but at the same time motivated. We know that without sacrifice and sweat we won't get anywhere and we will try to reach our goal until the end.
Coach Thiago Motta? He's a great motivator and we're here to listen to him and put into practice everything he tells us.
Serie A is one of the most difficult leagues. If we want to reach the goal of salvation we must all row in the same direction, I believe we can do it, but we must be aware of our strength and be craving to win."
Janis Antiste, forward born in 2002, continued: "I came to Spezia because I'm young and this is a great place to gain experience, the club immediately had faith in me and I was very impressed by coach Thiago Motta and his staff; I hope to be able to find space and continuity with this shirt.
I feel very well at La Spezia, I have been warmly welcomed by the staff, the managers and the public. In particular, I appreciated the fans' welcome at the stadium: it was unexpected, but it gave me the right energy and the strength to face the match, so I hope to give them great satisfaction.
The debut against Lazio was not easy, it was my first game in Serie A and I immediately understood that it is a high-level league, very different from Ligue 2. I was unlucky to find out against a club as strong as Lazio and I admit that initially it was a shock, but now I'm determined to redeem this start that saw us pick up just one point.
As for the coach, I have a lot of confidence in him. I think he's a great coach and our job is to adapt to his needs, respect him and follow every indication.
Where do I prefer to play? The role I prefer is as a central forward, but I have no problem adapting according to the coach's requests, so I can play either on the left or on the right."
