In the presence of Sporting Director Stefano Melissano, Gianluca Lapadula was officially introduced to the press this morning as the newest addition to Spezia’s attack: “My decision to join Spezia was strongly influenced by my relationship with the Director, having previously worked with him at Lecce, and by the feeling of being at the heart of an ambitious project. Even before my arrival, the team was having a strong season, but there’s still a long way to go, and I’m here to contribute to a project in which I see myself completely.
After the final whistle in Cittadella, I admit I was frustrated for not converting my chances, but at the same time, I was impressed by the team’s determination and clarity of ideas. This is the right path, titles are won one game at a time, and our focus must always be on the next match without looking too far ahead.
I came to Spezia because this is a team competing at a high level, and I was eager to feel alive again, to play, and to have clear objectives. That made all the difference for me.
My arrival is a clear signal of the ambitions we all share, and I did everything possible to be available right away for the match in Cittadella, a game I never wanted to miss.
The fans? I already knew them, having played at the ‘Picco’ as an opponent, and I can say that having such passionate support behind us is a crucial factor. I can’t wait to take the field in front of them.
Hunger and determination have always defined my career. At my age, if you can’t pass something on to younger players, you’ve failed. That’s why I’ll do everything I can to set an example every day because for me, the best way to communicate is by leading through actions, especially for the younger guys.
Pio Esposito? He’s a player whose ambition is evident just by looking into his eyes. I’m looking forward to getting to know him even better on the pitch.
The January transfer window? Honestly, I don’t pay attention to other teams. My only focus is on Spezia and what we can achieve together.
Cagliari? It’s home. I had two and a half fantastic years there with Liverani, Ranieri, and Nicola. Even though I didn’t play much towards the end, those were still important months that I’ll always carry with me. But now, I’m here at Spezia, where I want to feel alive again and relive the emotions I’ve experienced throughout my career.
I’ve known coach D’Angelo for many years, dating back to our time in C2, and I’ve found a united, hungry, and determined group, one that wants to surprise itself even before surprising others. That makes all the difference.
Perù? My relationship with the national team has been strong for five years now. We’re going through a tough period, but coming to Spezia is also a way for me to give my best for my country. Representing Peru means so much to me, it’s been a constant source of inspiration ever since it became part of my life".
