Born in 1995, Shomurodov grew up in Uzbekistan, in the youth ranks of Mash'al, a team in the Uzbek top league with which he made his debut in the first team at the age of 18. In 2015 he moved on to Bunyodkor, also in Uzbekistan's top league, where he established himself as one of the league's stars, scoring 59 appearances and 14 goals, and a move in 2017 to Fc Rostov, in Russia, marked the consecration for him in senior football. His 18 goals in the Premier Liga allowed him to attract the lights of Italian football, so much so that in 2020 it was time for him to land at Genoa, and his contribution would prove crucial in the Rossoblù's achievement of salvation.
The excellent performances in Liguria convinced one of the league's big names to bet on him, so the Uzbek star moved to the shadow of the Colosseum wearing the Roma jersey, where last season he was among the protagonists of the triumphant ride in the Conference League.
A complete striker, endowed with physical strength, great dynamism and good aerial skills, Shomurodov is a player who can vary on the whole offensive front and in Uzbekistan he is a real idol: in fact, the player has been wearing for years also the jersey of the Uzbek national team, of which he is the captain with 59 appearances and 32 goals.
At the age of 27, Shomurodov is therefore ready to make his contribution to the Eagles' cause, wearing jersey number 14.
