Coach Nunziata's Under-21 team secured a 2-2 draw against France in a friendly match held at the Castellani Stadium in Empoli. Casadei and Ambrosino scored in the first half, while Cherki and Atangana responded in the second.
Pio Esposito and Nicolò Bertola came on as substitutes in the 60th and 72nd minutes, replacing Ambrosino and Pirola, respectively. The Azzurrini were left with a sense of regret after conceding two goals in just seven minutes against one of the strongest teams on the international stage.
The team will return to action on Tuesday, November 19, at the "Picco" Stadium, where they will face Ukraine in another friendly match. This encounter will mark the return of the Spezia venue as a stage for major international events.
Meanwhile, with the Under-20 national team, Pietro Candelari featured for 30 minutes in the Elite League match against Poland. The midfielder delivered an impressive performance, highlighted by an assist for Vacca, who netted the decisive goal. In Bialystok, Italy came from behind to defeat Poland 3-2, thanks to late goals from Ciammaglichella and Vacca, the latter scoring again in the 79th minute.
Coach Corradi’s team will play their next match on Tuesday, November 19, against Romania at Viola Park.
