New day of presentations from the summer training camp in Santa Cristina, where coach Alvini's Eagles are continuing to prepare for the 2023/2024 season. Today it was the turn of Aquilotto striker Luca Moro, who introduced himself as a new player of Spezia, answering questions from the press: "I am getting comfortable in the new group and I am working to slowly find the best physical condition; overall we are working well and I am very confident and happy to be here.
I don't want to define myself as a complete striker, because I still have a lot to prove, but my main characteristic is perhaps that of movements, I'm a guy who studies players a lot and I like to steal something from the greatest strikers, like Lewandowski, who I think for central forwards is the reference par excellence, because he knows how to manage moments, choices and above all he knows how to score goals in all ways.
I hope that here in Spezia it will be another good year of my career, we can do a lot and well however right now we just have to think about working day by day, we will see as we go forward where we can get. I think it is a very important year for my career, I will have to try to listen as much as I can to those who follow me here and try to grow and improve.
I will always carry the Catania season in my heart, it was a period of my life that formed me so much both as a player and as a man; unfortunately that season was erased from the records due to the bankruptcy of the club, but what I felt in Catania will always remain with me.
We are coping well with this training camp, obviously it is still August soccer and one cannot make hasty judgments, but the fact of having started well, with a good win against Sassuolo, certainly gives stimulus and enthusiasm to the whole team.
We are a good group, as I said before though it's still early days, there are a lot of new guys in the team, so there will be work to get the group together and develop the best automatisms, but I'm sure we will grow together step by step.
Last year in Frosinone, one of the factors that affected the most was the group, because from the enthusiasm then came the plays of the individuals, from which then also came the decisive results; the team's togetherness was undoubtedly the factor that was able to make the difference.
I heard Director Angelozzi before arriving here in training camp and he spoke very well of the city and the club, as did Mulattieri, who was very happy with my transfer to Spezia, to the team of his city and where he grew up: both gave me some tips to follow and I am very ready to do my best.
I already knew Serpe from my Primavera days at Genoa, so in the first days here he helped me a lot to fit into the group, but in general I have to say that I really found a good collective and it is a pleasure to be here.
Mister Alvini is a very dedicated coach, he always asks me to attack the depth, so for me being a striker it is the best advice you can give me. Regarding the form I prefer, for me it doesn't change much between playing with or without the trequartista, so far we have tried the 4-3-3 and I must say that I find myself very well; I really like the playing philosophy of the Mister, because it is almost easier for the attackers to go forward immediately in aggression, rather than staying with a low center of gravity. Recovering the ball in the opponent's half of the field makes a difference because you are much closer to the goal, so this is undoubtedly a positive factor for me as well.
We know we are a strong team, from this we don't hide, but at the same time we know that we have to work hard to get a good result during the year, because obviously no one starts with the desire to lose and so it will be a real struggle from the first game, because Serie B is also this.
The internship with Coach Mancini's national team left me with beautiful emotions, you understand how high the level of the Azzurri national team is, which is composed of players of great value. We know that the Serie B championship is also followed by the entire Azzurri staff and this must give us confidence and desire in believing that we can also wear the Azzurri jersey, for us it must be an additional stimulus to do well.
Against Spezia I only played there in Primavera, however, they all told me that it is a very warm environment, experienced by very passionate people, a bit similar to Catania, and so I am looking forward to getting to know it and to take the field in our stadium".
