After the match against Grosseto, Alessandro Micai had this to say: “Unlike the game against Torres, we lacked a bit of decisiveness and impact on the match. We faced a well-organized team playing with great enthusiasm; this should teach us that we need to close out games when we have the chance, especially in this division and on these fields.
I made a few saves, but their goalkeeper was also very good; either team could have won, and in games like this, it’s the details that make the difference—aspects we need to keep working on more and more.
Right now, it takes time to be perfect, because we’re all new players; defensively today, I saw a unit that did what the coach asked, and I’m happier from that standpoint compared to the match against Torres, but clearly we need to work on it, try not to concede counterattacks, and keep fine-tuning our systems.
Personally, I’m not the type who needs to get burned before I understand the situation, and I know the difference between the Cup and the league; if this draw helps, I think it does, but of course we need to improve and try not to stumble again.
Playing high up the field? That’s my style, and the coach asks me to do it, too.
It’s only the first game so far; I can’t say whether we’re stronger or make any bold predictions. I think Grosseto is a good team, but for everyone, we’re at the start of the season, and it’s hard to make judgments.”
