A rewarding international break for Spezia Calcio, with four players representing their national teams.
Thursday evening was a dream debut for Przemyslaw Wiśniewski, who earned a starting spot for Poland in his first appearance, facing the Netherlands in a 1-1 draw. He delivered an excellent performance against top-level opposition, remaining on the pitch for almost the entire 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
On Friday afternoon, another debut arrived as young goalkeeper Diego Mascardi made his first appearance for Italy’s Under-21s, guarding the net against Montenegro at the “Alberto Picco” Stadium. The moment was met with applause from the home crowd and brought great pride to the Club, which has watched him develop as a player. Baldini’s Under-21s secured a 2-1 comeback victory in the European Championship 2027 qualifier, scheduled to take place in Albania and Serbia.
Also in action was midfielder Pietro Candelari, who once again wore the Italy Under-20 jersey in a friendly against England, with the Azzurrini winning 2-1. Among the starters was new signing Fellipe Jack, the talented 2006 defender chosen by Mister Nunziata to start against his English peers.
