At the end of the challenge against Fiorentina, coach Luca Gotti commented on his team's performance this way:
"My team played the game it had to play, the pity is that we missed the decisive goal. The game was set with great courage, knowing the risks. In the first 15 minutes we had two great chances and shortly afterwards on the first corner kick Fiorentina went ahead, however even from there on the team continued to push. I think ours was a performance of great courage.
The team is paying for the mistakes it makes: had we not been down to ten this game looked like we might even have won it. The episode turned against us and changed the game. We have to come to terms with this reality, these are limitations that my team has but are paying beyond repair.
We will have to file down the many things that need to be fixed and yet keep what we have done well today and so far during the season. Among the positive notes of this match is definitely Gyasi, who alongside Nzola played a great performance. But the whole group is working in the right direction and I am sure that if we continue like this we will be able to get what we deserve.
Beyond the technical aspects, today it is very nice how Nzola and Gyasi interpreted the match, they put the purple defense in trouble several times, they managed to intend each other on several occasions and I am very happy about that. Theirs was a performance of great maturity."
