At the end of the challenge of the U-Power Stadium, coach Luca Gotti analyzes the challenge against Monza as follows:
"The first half hour we went well, we took the field with personality, courage and energy, so much so that the conditions were created to do well. It then happens that you take an avoidable, trivial goal, which was followed by a phase in which we took a long time to raise our heads. Monza then managed to take advantage of an inactive ball to double the advantage, directing the match in their favor.
We found a team in a moment of great confidence, but even today we could not find the way to the away goal. However, there were several opportunities to be able to unlock us: Holm in the first half could choose to make a different finish than the one he did, then there is the opportunity of Agudelo when he arrived one meter from the goal line without being able to find the last winning pass, as well as the parade of Di Gregorio on the beautiful play of Maldini. In short, there were moments in which we could have scored goals, but we did not succeed and on this we must improve. Monza have been good at capitalising on the opportunities they have had and we have not, so we just have to grow fast.
Verde has just returned, he has only done some training with the team, so we will have to have the patience to wait. Today I wanted to play his card, because he is a player with so much quality, with plays and shots from outside. Maldini, on the other hand, had a greater minutage and I must say that he was able to enter the field really well, almost scoring the goal that could make us return to the game.
The strikers struggled, but I really liked Nzola at the beginning of the game, he held the impact and was able to make the department by making the team breathe. During the game he obviously dropped, as well as Gyasi, but I still preferred not to deprive myself of him because we all know his importance."
