In view of the next championship commitment, which the Eagles will play on the Monza field, coach Luca Gotti answered the questions of journalists in the usual pre-race press conference at the 'Ferdeghini' sports center:
"Last week we did a long week, we trained from Monday to Sunday, with large workloads. A week full of physical problems, in which we could not recover in time the players we thought we could get back, so on the eve of the game we arrived with this feeling of fatigue, which is sometimes denied on the field, but this was not the case. Unfortunately the game did not start as we expected, after a few seconds we conceded a penalty and after a handful of minutes you concede the 1-0. It was certainly not a good start, which only complicated the rest of the match, but we know we have to start again and grow, and what is ending was undoubtedly a different week.
This week we have worked with many more players, gradually everyone is coming back, Hristov, Sala, Reca will still be out, but in any case we have worked continuously and we are preparing to face a really important game.
The conditions of the next match in Monza are certainly different from those of Rome, where Lazio lined up with a attacking trio formed by Felipe Anderson, Immobile and Zaccagni and where we played four in defense with Kiwior wide on the left.
Ekdal is recovering and over time will reach his best condition. Agudelo had lived a difficult week before Lazio and I chose to leave in Rome with the freshness of Ellertsson also to keep me the opportunity to play the Kevin card in the current game, which has this great quality of entering very well at the start of the game. Keeping weapons capable of changing the face of a game is a reasoning that I usually do and that with the five changes has taken even more importance.
As for Monza, it is clear that in the last two games we have seen a team with great enthusiasm, capable of winning even against a great team like Juventus. I saw a quality training but also a lot of workers, where everyone participates, certainly the merit is Palladino, but also for how good Stroppa had done".
