Last season? It was a rollercoaster of emotions. We had a fantastic year, even if we couldn’t quite achieve our dream in the end. But that’s behind us now, we need to shake it off quickly and come back stronger.
Every season is a growth journey for a player, and here in Spezia, I’ve found an environment that’s helped me along that path. I’m really happy with how things are going. Spezia feels like home, not just for me, but for my whole family. The moments my brother and I have shared here are special, they’ll always be part of us. I hope to create more memories like that here.
Mentally? Ups and downs are part of every footballer’s journey. What matters is how you respond when things don’t go your way, finding the strength to steer things back on course. After a great season that ended with some disappointment, that’s exactly what we need to do, players, fans, and the club together.
Pio’s absence? Beyond not having my brother with me every day, we’re missing a player who made a real difference in this league. But I’m sure whoever steps in will do their best to fill the gap, even if that’s not easy, because we all know Pio’s value. Our first goal is clear: reach 45 points as soon as possible. After that, with teamwork, we’ll chase the same emotions we experienced last year.
Set pieces? In Serie B, set pieces can change games, and they’re a key part of modern football. We saw that last season, and it’s something I focus on a lot with the coach, who always gives us plenty of set-piece routines to work on.
Our target? First and foremost, we need to secure safety as soon as possible. I know the fans, after last season, might expect another year pushing for promotion, but we know how tough Serie B is. Regardless, what can’t be missing is the fighting spirit we showed last year, and I’m sure that’s already there. I see it in my teammates, there’s determination in their eyes, shaped by last season’s heartbreak. We’ll take it one step at a time.
The new players? Anyone joining Spezia is lucky, they’re coming to a club where you have everything you need to succeed. The fans live and breathe for this team, they make you feel like you’re playing for a top club. Not every place gives you that. And as for the Picco, it’s incredible. Since the renovation, it’s become a fortress. Playing there gives us a real edge, thanks to the fans.
And back home in Castellammare? Whenever my brothers and I get the chance, we head back to the local pitch and play, and of course, I always win".
