The inauguration of the SPACE LAB took place on Monday morning at the "Antonio Pacinotti" Scientific High School, featuring state-of-the-art equipment for the static and dynamic analysis of the human body.
The event was attended by the School Principal, Professor Grazia Geranio, Assistant Principals, Professors Riccardo Barotti and Damiano Moscatelli, PNRR Project Coordinator, Professor Daniela Salis, administrative staff, teachers from the Physical Education Department, Dr. Salvatore Barbagallo, President of the Medical and Dental Surgeons' Association of La Spezia, Dr. Cristina Rossi, a member of the Association's Board of Directors, and CONI delegate for La Spezia, Federico Leporati. Representing Spezia Calcio were player Salvatore Elia, Communications Director Gianluca Parenti, and CEO Andrea Gazzoli.
"We are very happy to be here," said CEO Andrea Gazzoli, "as a former high school student myself, I cannot help but view with satisfaction the progress and efforts being made for these young students who are shaping their futures. For us, it is crucial to maintain an ongoing dialogue with local institutions, in order to play even a small part in the growth and development of young people. In this regard, the strong collaboration that has only deepened since last season with 'Pacinotti' brings us great satisfaction. It was therefore essential for us to be here to witness this important technological milestone for a high school that, like us, looks to both the present and the future".
After a presentation of the equipment, Professor Alessandro Bonanni, head of the lab, conducted a practical demonstration with the assistance of two 4LB class students, Vittoria Facco and Valentina Scalari, champions in triathlon and tennis, respectively. The two students participated in tests on walking dynamics, muscle strength assessment, and joint mobility.
The innovative SPACE LAB offers cutting-edge educational opportunities with a wide range of practical applications, ideal for all students at the high school. It allows for an in-depth, hands-on approach not only in high-level sports, but also in rehabilitation, creating a productive synergy between all the scientific disciplines. Thanks to its unique features, the new "Pacinotti" laboratory is fully integrated into a broader path of equipment enhancement and methodological innovation, aimed at training young people to be more informed, skilled, and adaptable, capable of successfully facing the challenges of the digital transition and the rise of new professions.
