On the eve of the match against Brescia, coach Luca D’Angelo spoke to the press: “I’m very confident in the attacking options we have because everyone is in great shape. No matter who takes the field, I’m sure they’ll do well, and the same goes for those coming on during the match.
We have to approach this phase of the season not as an obligation but as an opportunity. Last year, our duty was to secure survival; this year, we have the privilege of being in the fight for something important. We must not lose sight of that but continue giving our all, just as we’ve done so far. That’s the attitude I expect from everyone, starting with myself and everyone around the team, all the way to the players, who are the main protagonists.
The team? Pio Esposito will be available, and we hope to have Degli Innocenti and Salvatore Esposito back for the match against Sampdoria.
Brescia? They’re a strong team going through a unique season. Compared to last year, the situations have completely reversed, but that’s Serie B, every season is different from the last.
Pisa? So far, they’ve done better than us because they have more points. However, we should remember that on the field, they’d only be three points ahead of us, the gap is five due to their forfeit win against Cittadella, and that’s a fact we have to account for. That said, I believe we can still catch up, but it will take outstanding performances, starting with tomorrow’s match.
Serie B matches are always tough, regardless of the opponent, and I think the final stretch of the season will be challenging for everyone, there are no easy games.
Ferrer? He’s an exceptional guy and a strong player. I know him well, having faced him many times as an opponent. He’s overcome something significant, thanks to his character, and right now, he’s doing well. Nothing is stopping me from considering him for the remainder of the season, not as a favor, but because he’s an important player who is fully capable of contributing.
The numbers show that after Cremonese, we’re the highest-scoring team and one of the best attacks in the league. We just need to keep following the path we’ve set.
Midfield goals? It’s partly down to the characteristics of our midfielders. They excel at pressing, but the chances are there, and I’m confident the goals will come.
With two consecutive home games in front of our fans, we have to make the most of them, starting tomorrow night.
Brescia is a team that plays football; they don’t just sit back and defend. I expect an open match where we’ll need to stay focused and locked in from the very first moments".
