After the fantastic victory at Catanzaro, Coach Luca D'Angelo spoke in the post-match interview: "In the first half, we played better than Catanzaro and, since we had the chances, we definitely should have aimed for a 2-0 lead. In the second half, especially in the final 20 minutes, the opponents really put us under pressure, but I believe that for 70 minutes our team controlled the game better.
As for Degli Innocenti and Falcinelli, Bandinelli had been dealing with an ankle issue during the week, while Degli Innocenti was in excellent form and played a great match. I chose to start Falcinelli for tactical reasons; I wanted a striker who could link the play, and he did that very well. Regarding Bertola, he had a swollen eye, possibly from a headbutt or elbow, so he requested to be substituted just before the break.
Every match is tough, as we saw today against Catanzaro, a very well-organized team with eleven consecutive home wins and a passionate crowd. Winning here was not easy, which shows that the gap between teams isn't as wide as the standings might suggest at the moment.
Last year, we stayed up on the final matchday. Now, we are doing very well, but we mustn't get too fixated on the standings because the season is still long, and today’s match was definitely very difficult. Winning it is important because it boosts our confidence".
