After the draw against Brescia, coach Luca D'Angelo shared his analysis of the team's performance: "I haven’t reviewed the free-kick goal, but it was certainly Brescia’s only real chance throughout the game; the team played well, and we outperformed our opponents, so it is a shame to have conceded the equalizer in that way.
We knew it would be a very physical game, and we approached it the right way, even after the equalizer, where we came close to scoring a second goal.
Di Serio and Čolak? It is a positive sign that Di Serio got on the scoresheet; he had a good game besides the goal, and scoring is certainly beneficial for him and for us. Čolak did not get much service today, it was a scrappy game, but he always does his part. In fact, much of Di Serio’s goal was due to him and Hristov, so I am pleased with his performance as well.
Brescia did not catch us off guard; they played long balls to their two strikers and often fought for the second ball. They really only troubled us in the first five or six minutes of the second half, and it is unrealistic to think we can completely neutralize opposing teams over a full match.
Candelari? He played brilliantly; he is a player of immense talent and personality, and it is gratifying for us to see him out there and I even think he was the best on the field.
Reca was not well during the night, and we wanted to bring in Elia at the end, though he had not fully recovered from the last match. But then the game got scrappy, and both Mateju and Vignali were performing well.
I saw the red card incident clearly; Vignali’s foul was there, but the play should have been stopped moments earlier due to a handball by a Brescia player, which I saw clearly as it happened right in front of my bench, otherwise, I would not point it out.
Sixteen positive results are a lot, but we need to keep going like this. We are in good form, and the team is engaged. Now, we will prepare with focus and determination for Saturday afternoon’s match, just as we have done up to now".
