Two days ahead of the home match against Carrarese, coach Luca D'Angelo shared his thoughts on the team’s current form: “The team is doing well. We know we’re facing an important match and need to approach it with full focus, but the group is ready both mentally and physically.
There’s a lot of anticipation for this match, the atmosphere is electric, and even if we wanted to shut it out, it would be impossible. But I also think it would be a mistake to do so, because it’s important to experience these emotions. What matters is channeling them the right way once we’re on the field. The boys are focused and prepared to handle the game the right way.
How do we aim for a more comfortable win? I agree, we need to stop falling behind and keep the same attitude we’ve shown in recent months in every moment, every game. And if we can win with less effort, all the better.
Carrarese is a team that has played very well so far. They have the right mentality for the league and are well-organized on the field, so we’ll need to be emotionally sharp first and then tactically focused, paying attention to every detail.
It may sound triviality, but the hardest match is the one we’re preparing for right now, so today our sole focus must be on Carrarese. We know it’ll be a tough game, but we’ll give everything to secure the result.
As for injuries, Kouda and Sarr are continuing their recovery. We’re evaluating Elia, and tomorrow during the final training session we’ll see if he can be included. We have a deep squad with many options. We can rotate players and have important solutions both at the start and during the match, especially in attack, where I have strong, intelligent forwards who are handling the competition excellently. I’m very pleased with them.
Čolak? He’s ready to start and performed very well at Cremona, coming close to scoring after shaking off tight marking and making a committed run to reach a tough ball. He’s also a team player, which I really appreciate, so we’ll consider starting him, just as we’ll consider the other forwards.
We have six midfielders, all of whom have seen playing time, so we’ll assess the best options depending on the opponent.”
