On the eve of a key home match against Pisa, Spezia coach Luca D’Angelo shared his thoughts on the team’s current moment: “This is definitely an important game, first and foremost because it’s a direct clash, and we know we need to make up ground on our opponents. But I’m sure we’ll give everything we have, just as we’ve done up to this point.
I was always treated very well in Pisa, and I had a long and rewarding journey there. But now, I see the same kind of environment here in Spezia. I have a great relationship with the club, and beyond that, there’s a strong sense of unity, with our fans always ready to support the team.
Right now, we are fully focused on tomorrow’s match, nothing else is on our minds. Both teams are having a great season. Of course, we started from very different places, at the beginning of the year, we had different objectives, while Pisa was always expected to compete for a playoff spot. They’ve been up there from the start, and they deserve credit for it. That said, we’re also having a strong season.
The key for us is to be emotionally present in the game from the very first whistle. That’s what matters most, regardless of who starts.
On a personal note, I’m really happy to see the stadium packed every match, and tomorrow will be no exception. It’s yet another sign of our fans’ love for this jersey and this group, whose sacrifices are truly recognized by the entire city. Playing in front of a full house will be incredible. I hope it’s a thrilling match, even in the stands, but one that remains peaceful and goes smoothly, that would be really important. I know both fan bases are incredibly passionate, and all that energy should be channeled into supporting the teams from the stands.
Lapadula? He’s in great shape, he’s trained well, and he’ll definitely be involved tomorrow. Whether he starts or comes on during the match, we’ll see, but he’s a key player for us.
I believe the path we’ve been on since last season is going well. In fact, we’ve even accelerated our progress. Tomorrow’s game is a big one in the context of this season, so we need to approach it with the right mentality, knowing it will be tough, but also that we have what it takes to win.
The mental aspect is crucial, of course there are countless factors that influence a match, but it comes down to individual players having the ability to manage pressure, play with confidence, and stay determined.
Pisa? They have several options, and regardless of their formation, we’ll need to be smart in finding the right way to counter them".
