Two days before the clash with Palermo, Spezia is fully focused on the match. As usual, head coach Luca D’Angelo spoke in the pre-match press conference: “As you know, we won’t have Nagy and Soleri available. Naturally, we always have to account for a few minor knocks, but overall, the team is in great shape and ready to take on Palermo.
The Rosanero? We’ll need to put in a high-level performance because we’re facing a strong side—one of the teams that shoots the most and concedes the fewest chances. They’ve also strengthened significantly, but we have to play our game and look to deliver a great performance right from the start.
They’re very dangerous on the counterattack and possess great technical quality. We’ll have to stay sharp at all times, both on set pieces and in possession, because Palermo excels at winning the ball back and immediately attacking the opposition’s defensive line.
Compared to the reverse fixture, they’ve made some tactical adjustments, though their playing style remains different from ours, even if the system may look similar.
I hope we continue scoring consistently, both from open play and set pieces, but overall, I’m pleased that we have one of the best scoring averages in the league. I want us to keep building on that.
Our fans play a huge role. There were so many of them in Cittadella, and of course, they’ll be out in force at home. It’s a decisive factor, especially in a stadium like ours, which is perfectly suited to football and allows the passion of the supporters to truly reach the players on the pitch.
Lapadula? He’s a very strong player whom I’ve faced on the pitch several times. He has personality, the right mentality, and great quality—a fantastic signing for the club. I think he pairs well with all the forwards we have.
Djankpata? He has excellent qualities. He came from a different footballing environment, so he’s had to work on his conditioning, but he has a bright future ahead of him. I believe that by next season’s preseason camp, he’ll be one of the players competing for a starting spot.
The Serie B transfer window? I’m very happy with our business. We brought in Chichizola and Lapadula without losing anyone. Of course, every team has strengthened, so we need to stay focused, keep doing what we’re doing, and never let up".
