It’s the third day of training camp in Pontremoli, and here’s what Kevin Bright, a former Alcione midfielder and one of the new faces on the Aquilotti roster, has to say: “I’ve found a group that’s made me feel at home from day one, and the vibe is really positive; for my part, I’m trying to give it my all and not overlook anything, paying close attention to everything that’s asked of me.
My strengths? I like to play the ball, but I also enjoy going head-to-head and winning physical battles.
The coach? I’ve gotten along very well with him right from the start; he has a very energetic personality, is able to inspire great enthusiasm, and has ideas he’s been working to help us absorb right away.
As soon as I got the call from Director Angelozzi, there was no need to think twice, because Spezia has a rich history, passionate fans, and big ambitions—and for any player, it can only be an honor to wear the white jersey. Expectations? I’ll do my absolute best to contribute to the team and work day in and day out to improve and keep pushing myself further.
From the ground-up experience I’ve gained over the years, I’ve developed the competitive edge I used to lack, especially when I was younger.
Last year I scored my first goals at the senior level; it was a very positive season both for the team and personally, and in that regard I owe a huge thanks to the coach and my teammates, from whom I’ve tried to learn as much as possible.
My time at Milan was very formative, partly because I had the chance to train with champions like Ibrahimovic and Leao; so even though it was definitely tough at first, I matured a lot with each training session.
My brother? We’re very close; we talk often, and I’m really proud of him because he truly worked his way up from the bottom and ended up playing with Messi after he chose to move across the ocean.
What can we expect from Serie C? I’ll just say that it’ll be important to stick together, give it our all, and listen to the coach—then we’ll tackle whatever comes our way as best we can.
A message for the Aquile fans? I can only say that we’re working really hard and that, step by step, we can all achieve great things together.”
