Before arriving in Spezia I had heard by phone both Nikolaou and Zurkowski, two guys with whom I played at Empoli and who spent very good words both for the city and for the club, so their opinion also influenced my choice; Zurkowski and I think we are two complementary players, because we are two good midfielders, who in the way of playing of mister Alvini can be at ease.
In Serie B, names count up to a certain point, we will have to be good at proving our worth every game, because the cadetteria is a difficult league, in which there will be complicated moments, which we will have to learn how to handle as best we can, all together. The first friendly of the season was challenging, against a strong team. I think that in the three of midfield I can play a little bit everywhere, because the coach asks for rotations on the field, he wants a very dynamic game and not made of fixed positions, so both as a halfback and as a halfback I am convinced I can give my contribution.
Mister Alvini is a coach with very clear ideas, who makes us understand concretely what he wants from us players; so far I have had a very good impression, he is a determined coach, with an aggressive, vertical and game-oriented idea of football.
The Spezia fans are very passionate, giving so much to the team, I remember it from the times I came to play at the Picco, which is a stadium that puts you in trouble, a very hot and passionate environment where winning is never easy. So I hope I can prove my worth every game and I will try to do that every time I set foot in that stadium.
The opportunity to come to Spezia fascinated me a lot, I saw an interesting project and I was charged and motivated to be part of it; I think the right time had come to make a change and make this choice.
After a relegation it is never easy to start again, because it is something that can leave some aftermath, however, it is fundamental on the part of everyone to leave the past behind and live in the present. We have to focus on what we want to do this year and we will have to prove on the field that we are a strong team; personally I would also like to drag the team positively to bring that breath of enthusiasm and lightheartedness that those who have not experienced that relegation can bring.
I am very sorry to have lost Wisniewski, I saw him play last year and I think he is a really strong player. We are waiting for him and I hope he can recover as well as possible and as soon as possible, to come back on the field stronger than before.There are a lot of young players who can do well, such as Sanca, Cipot and Candelari, but there are also a lot of other guys on the roster who are talented. They are interesting pawns who will be able to assert themselves and who can take satisfaction as early as this year.
