Giuseppe Aurelio, who opened the scoring in this afternoon’s match, spoke after the game in Avellino: “Today we achieved a big-team victory. We played well and took advantage of our chances in front of goal. On Wednesday at the Picco, we’re expecting a tough battle alongside our fans.
It certainly wasn’t easy to play a match like this given the challenging moment, but we brought home a win as a true team, showing determination.
Mister D’Angelo? Since I arrived at Spezia, we’ve always been united, the team and the coach together. Often in football, people only look at the final result, but from Monday to Friday we train hard. In recent weeks, results haven’t gone our way, and naturally we were a bit frustrated and angry, but in every match we gave our all. Today’s result is the outcome of the work we’ve put in over the past two months.
Scoring decisive goals is one of my strengths. I always go for the ball with conviction and determination because I love seeing it hit the net.
Set pieces? The coach has been drilling us a lot on them, we’ve conceded too many goals from dead-ball situations. But despite that, I’m convinced this is a strong team; I’ve said it since day one.
I also want to thank the fans. Even when we hadn’t won in previous matches, they supported us massively over these two months. They’re the twelfth man on the pitch, and this victory is for them, for being here today as well".
