Spezia Calcio gets a makeover and presents today its new visual identity, which stands for the club's identity values and at the same time its inseparable bond with the city and the territory. The new logo, which will be used starting with the 2023/2024 football season, represents an important milestone in Spezia Calcio's path of renewal and growth, a process of identity reinforcement that rests on respect for the tradition and values that have always guided the Club, but with an eye toward the future.
The graphic layout, which is innovative, minimal, geometric and modern, is composed mainly of three constituent elements: the name "Spezia," placed at the top of the logo, completing the geometry of the structure, goes to represent the name by which the Club is identified; the eagle, the historical symbol of Spezia Calcio, set in a dominant position at the top of the logo; and finally the intersection of the letters S and C, representing the Club's official name "Spezia Calcio." The letters S and C, obtained from four geometric shapes inspired by the prow of a boat, a symbol of new horizons and progress, merge to form an anchor in the lower end, a symbol instead of respect and connection to tradition, all united in a single shield.
Simple and incisive, bold and identity-driven, the new logo is inspired first and foremost by La Spezia's fans, their symbols, shapes and typefaces. The goal was to arrive at an emblem that could be sported with pride and at the same time go on to express strength, loyalty, honor and belonging. The other major source of inspiration is the sea, the beating heart of the community, a source of livelihood, growth and fulfillment for thousands of La Spezia residents. The new logo wants to speak first of all to the people who love and live the Gulf of La Spezia, in the name of an unbreakable bond with the city and the territory, consolidated and embellished by the Club's new visual identity. The third inspiring element is the tradition of La Spezia Calcio. From an in-depth analysis of the logos that have spanned the club's history, from 1906 to the present, we focused on the most representative and significant elements, recovering and reinterpreting them in a modern key: from the intersection of letters, to the shield, to the eagle, elements that represent the identity heritage of Spezia Calcio.
