It was a weekend to remember for Spezia’s Under-13s at the “Memorial Domenichini”, a tournament in which the young Eagles were drawn in Group A alongside Canaletto and Pisa, whilst Group B featured Juventus, Inter and Parma.
Coach Rovani and Iaria’s lads finished top of their group thanks to victories over Canaletto (3-0, with a brace from Dieli and a goal from Germano) and Pisa (4-1, with goals from Franceschini, Rossi and a brace from Dieli), thereby securing a place in the final against Juventus, winners of Group B.
The decisive match ended in a draw (2-2), with goals from Germano and Dieli for the Aquilotti, but Spezia came out on top in the penalty shoot-out, claiming first place in the highly coveted “Memorial Domenichini”, which featured other major clubs.
It was not just a team success, but also a personal one: Aquilotti goalkeeper Andrea Pasquali was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper, whilst Samuel Dieli finished top of the scoring charts!
