Another convincing performance, but unlucky for the Aquile, who were stopped at home by a goal in the 86th minute by Milan. These are the words of coach Thiago Motta in the post-match:
"We created more with Milan than in the match against Juventus, but we can't get used to playing a good game without bringing home points. Today we deserved something more, two challenges against two high-level teams like Juve and Milan so close together were complicated, but we took the field with our heads held high, unfortunately without being able to bring home points. Now we have to focus on Hellas Verona and try to face them in the best possible way.
The certainty I have is the team spirit that once again the boys have shown on the field. To grow we need all the players, even those who didn't play today, the road is very long, but we must focus on one game at a time.
We faced a difficult, proactive team, and despite Milan's strength we managed to play at the same level, but without gain an advantage from the excellent situations we created.
The way we got to the draw is the right way. In these situations, we have to keep calm, stay focused and try to take advantage of the weaknesses of the opponent. Milan played very high and left a lot of space behind, we should have created more in those situations and that's how the goal came.
I think that today we have already seen a better Spezia than the one that played against Juventus, but we have to improve in the attacking phase, play more with the ball on the ground without wasting important opportunities.
The positive thing that makes me proudest is to see the players who took the field giving their 200%, both those who started and those who entered the game in progress, this is an excellent basis to grow, to achieve more.
The approach with which we will prepare for Hellas will be the same of these games, trying to give our best, fixing mistakes, and strengthening our confidence."
