The long-awaited three points have arrived for the Eagles after the excellent performance at the Picco against Torino, which saw Thiago Motta's team come out victorious with the result of 1-0 signed by Jacopo Sala.
Here are the words and feelings of the coach after the match:
"Today's win is important because we played against a team that is in good shape, that has both physical and technical qualities, and with a great coach. It was a tough game, but we managed to work together, and we deserved the victory. From the first to the last minute we played, we fought, and we did it together. I'm satisfied with the guys and the performance.
We were good at staying focused and understanding the game situations, then with the changes, we managed to maintain the superiority and I must thank my guys because they showed willingness and unity among themselves.
I'm satisfied with the work Nzola is doing, he's making himself available to the team and even when he's been dropped to a position that's not his own, he's shown himself to be unselfish and tenacious. He won a lot of duels against a team that is very good in these situations, he missed the goal, but I'm sure it will come.
Our common goal was to win, and we managed it, thanks to the contribution of all the lads: they worked well and gave their all, I couldn't ask for more. We have to be happy for the three points, but also for the clean sheet, it means that we defended as a team and this is what counts.
From my point of view the midfielders give more balance to the team, and today we had the proof with Sala: he played very well and thanks to his presence we were able to defend and attack with more confidence. Sala definitely deserved his starting place and the goal that came, he worked well during the week and showed me he has the qualities to play in midfield.
It's hard for me to say who did better than the others, I saw a team that worked together and I'm happy with all of them, with what they did in training and with this performance.
The games ahead of us won't be easy, but we'll take them one at a time as we've always done, trying to take the field with the spirit we showed today and with the desire to fight that distinguishes us.
Today Spezia is smiling, it's an important victory for us. I thank the banner of support from the fans, I feel them close to me and the team and they also deserved this victory. We know that our championship is not easy, that we will have to fight, but we want the fans to know that we will always give our best and we hope to have them always by our side and to give them other joys like tonight's."
