This morning marked another exciting edition of “Schools at Picco”, the project dedicated to schools in the Spezia area, centered around an exclusive tour of the newly renovated Alberto Picco Stadium. Today, students from Cervi and Cattaneo Middle Schools—specifically three third-year classes—were our special guests.
The project, in which the Club on Via Melara opens the doors of its stadium to young students, is designed to educate the next generation by promoting a positive sports culture and highlighting core values such as passion, fairness, respect, fun, and teamwork.
Through a journey into the world of the Aquilotti, students explored various aspects of Spezia Calcio’s past and present. This included insights from historic Spezia announcer Federico La Valle, who shared stories of local fans along the Gulf of Poets, featuring notable personalities and anecdotes that reflect the pride of supporting one’s hometown team every day. Additionally, Guglielmo Bertani from ANED (the National Association of Former Deportees to Nazi Camps) spoke to the students about the incredible achievements of the 1944 Champions and their historic title.
A highlight of “Schools at Picco” was the themed quiz, featuring numerous prizes branded by Spezia Calcio and Kariba, the project’s partner, which brought great joy to the students. The event concluded in the stands, in the heart of Spezia’s supporters, with a memorable group photo in Curva Ferrovia.
