Spezia remains unbeaten after seven league matches, and following the clash at the Mapei Stadium, coach Luca D'Angelo spoke to the press:
“There were moments in the game where Sassuolo, though not creating clear chances, pushed up their line, but the team held strong, finishing on a high and generating some dangerous opportunities. I’m satisfied with the performance, especially in terms of mentality, because the players adapted well to the tough match that awaited us.
We approached the edge of their box several times, but credit to our opponents, we were missing something in the final third—perhaps because the physical edge we've shown against other teams was slightly less evident today.
We can’t lose sight of the path we know we need to follow, as we’re fully aware of how dangerous and unpredictable Serie B can be, so we’ll continue taking it one game at a time.
We had planned to play aggressively, but at certain points Sassuolo, with their quality and deep roster, forced us to drop back. Still, the team defended well and stayed organized, hardly conceding any chances throughout the match".
