A satisfied Luca D'Angelo spoke at the end of the home win against Reggiana: "The team played the game we needed to. We knew it was going to be a tough match, especially physically. The only real risk we faced was when they hit the post, and that came from us losing possession in a bit of an innocent way.
Esposito has played the most minutes in midfield and his position is very demanding. He was just a little tired, and I thought it was right to bring in fresher players for a match I knew would be open.
The attacking trio? Falcinelli brought the quality we might have lacked without Esposito. He started as a central midfielder but attacked during possession, a role he played well with great sacrifice. I'm pleased with the performance because the team didn’t take any unnecessary risks, except for the post, and always felt like a threat.
The stadium feels the team's effort. When fans see them battling, running, attacking space, jumping and fighting, they identify with that. As a result, a beautiful chemistry is created.
Mateju and Čolak? Mateju had an excellent game, as did all the defenders. Čolak also had a very good match; he's a strong striker in the box, and he proved that with the goal. He still needs more minutes, but I’m very pleased with how he performed.
The break gives us a chance to fully recover some players like Kouda and Aurelio. The team is doing very well, but we still have a long way to go, and the players understand that.
Hristov and Esposito are both very important players. However, Hristov has only trained four times in fifteen days with the team, so I didn’t think it was worth risking him, especially with the break coming up. Salvatore is an extremely important player with unique playmaking abilities, but for today’s game, we needed players whose best qualities were their energy and dynamism.
Cassata? He’s a key player, both in terms of character and his technical and tactical ability because he allows us to play differently. Like I said with Hristov and Esposito, we have several alternatives, and that applies to every player we have, because I have a solid group that trains well and is always ready to give their all for Spezia.
Pio Esposito is a tough player for opponents to deal with because he has technique, physicality, strength and a good sense of goal. He still has to mature in some situations, but that's normal given his young age.
I want to thank the fans for their appreciation of me and, most importantly, for their constant support of the team every week. It’s great to feel that unity between the fans, the team, and the Club, because it really makes a difference during the difficult moments in matches".
