On the eve of the match against Carrarese, coach Luca D’Angelo spoke during a press conference, saying: “Of course, I hope for a game like the one in the first leg, but the reality is that every match has its own story. We will strive to play with great determination and focus, fully aware of the importance of this game.
The absence of our fans? Football belongs to the fans, and it would have been right to give ours the chance to attend the match. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about it, as even more influential people than I have tried to overturn this decision without success. We are disappointed because this is the second time, in a nearby away game, that such a measure has been taken. I am sure many of our fans would have been there in large numbers, but sadly, this situation is beyond our control.
Team availability? We have three players suspended and a few others dealing with minor issues that we’ll need to monitor until the last moment. Nevertheless, we are capable of fielding a competitive team with the right substitutions, and we’re working toward that goal.
Referee Sozza? He’s an excellent referee, but I don’t focus too much on officiating assignments and prefer to evaluate after the match. What’s certain is that there will be an experienced referee who will ensure fairness for both sides.
The importance of the match? The team fully understands the significance of this game. It’s not just about local rivalry but also the standings. The team has trained very well and with great attention.
The team’s performance this season? We’re having an extraordinary campaign, and I want to emphasize this point, which is evident to everyone. People often talk about numbers, and I believe that based on the stats, we deserved to take all three points against both Mantova and Juve Stabia. However, that didn’t happen, and sometimes in football, you don’t win games you should. Still, the team is in great shape. Apart from the match against Bari, we’ve consistently delivered good performances. We must keep pushing hard in training and always give our best, starting tomorrow.
Set pieces? Naturally, we work on them and analyze potential weaknesses in our opponents, but matches have many facets. Above all, we must remain highly attentive in both phases of the game.
Playing on artificial turf? We’re not specifically preparing for the match on synthetic turf because I don’t think one training session would significantly impact our adaptation. Regardless of the surface—whether it’s dirt, sand, synthetic turf, or natural grass—what matters most is fighting hard on the field.
Our connection with the fans? The fans are very close to us, and we feel their confidence in us every day. It’s immensely gratifying to have rebuilt the bond between the club and the community. Even the farewell gesture planned by our fans is an act of love that we must carry with us into tomorrow’s match.
Bandinelli? He’s a strong, dynamic player. He’s recovering well from his injury and was involved in Soleri’s goal against Juve Stabia. Before his injury, he was performing at a very high level, and I have great faith in him.
Gori? He has a back issue and has been seriously sidelined for several days. It has nothing to do with being on the substitutes’ list in the last match, though I understand how easy it is to draw such conclusions. He is truly injured".
